Webcomic round-up

In only 10 days the San Diego Comicon begins, the industry's biggest, craziest, funnest (not a word) convention of the year. And there's going to be a huge tottering pile of webcomic creators there. Last year R Stevens did a
of where some of them were.

For the last couple of months I have meant to do a similar one for this year, but I Suck At Photoshop. Turns out that being a wiz at Mac Paint and Mac Draw isn't much help 20 years later. Who knew!?!

So here's a text listing, with links, of the folks I have heard are going to be there. The same table number system is used, and most exhibitors have the same location if they were there last year.

Coming to the show, but I'm not sure where they will be hanging out:
Zack Weiner, Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal
Dirk Tiede, Paradigm Shift (with Spike?)
Nicholas Gurewich, Perry Bible Fellowship (likely with Dark Horse - 2615)
Michael H. Payne, Daily Grind
Robin Ericson, The Wotch
Thom Katt, Crossworlds Crossworlds
possibly RayneShikama, Abstract Gender
on Thursday only, Isabel Marks and Terrence Marks, Namir Deiter, You Say It First

Now, I am sure that I've missed some folks, or added in someone who can't make it, so leave comments and I'll edit this post.

[edited 7/14 to add creators to the Blank Label booth, add Dumbrella listing]
[edited 7/15 to move Wondermark and add xkcd to Dayfree, add Mr. Toast and PBF to general, add Daily Grind to roaming, add Halfpixel listing, group Indy Press together, add Comics Bakery to Small Press]
[edited later in 7/15 to remove Sam Logan from Dayfree - sorry you can't make it!]
[edited still later on 7/15 to add Isabel and Terrence Marks, add Blatant Comics]
[edited 7/16 to add the 910CXM folks]
[edited later 7/16 to add Aaron Williams]

I think Dirk Tiede, of "Paradigm Shift," is coming, sharing a table with Spike of "Templar, AZ."

Thanks Bill!
I'm not sure which booth either of them are at, I'll update as I go.

San Diego
I'll be there, somewhere in the Artist's Alley. However I must admit I don't have a webcomic.

Re: San Diego
Perhaps we could meet up some time while there?

(Hmmm, why does it seem perfectly natural to schedule a visit with someone at a time when we will both be very busy and very far from home when I could - at any time! - schedule a visit right here?)

Dan Goodsell:

Of The World of Mr. Toast and Gags will be in booth #4831. I'll be at the convention, too, but as a living example of the principle that doing a webcomic Monday through Friday doesn't make one an artist, I don't have a booth of any sort... :)

Hey, being an artist is not related to having a booth.

Booths are expensive, and the cost can only be justified if one has not only something tangible to sell (books, shirts, rights, whatever) but a reasonable expectation of selling enough of them to cover the cost of not just the booth but everything it implies (shipping, staff, exhaustion, etc...).

This post is really my personal notepaper about webcomic creators attending ComiCon, and where I might find them. You do a webcomic, and you're going to be attending the con, so you need to be on the list. I'm glad you have your name and links to your comic on your user info.

Thanks for helping make this list more complete!

Plans have changed for Wondermark - I'll now be at the Dayfree Press table. Randall Munroe (xkcd) is rumored to be there as well, and Nicholas Gurewitch (PBF) will be somewhere, probably signing at the Dark Horse table now and then but potentially elsewhere as well.

They couldn't get a table but several people from the just getting started 910CMX group are planning to attend:
Robin Ericson from The Wotch http://www.thewotch.com/
Thom Katt from Crossworlds http://www.crossworlds.ws/
Possibly RayneShikama from Abstract Gender http://www.abstractgender.com/

And several others. http://www.sailorranko.com/ http://www.littlelevers.com/angels etc.

Added!

I wasn't comfortable adding the Sailor Ranko or Little Levers folks, since I'm not sure which of them are coming. If you get confirmed names I'll add them.

Thanks for helping make this list more complete!
