link spammage on LiveJournal

juliatyvub left a comment on an old message for studiofoglio that makes no sense in context, but does not itself have any links, except that of the user name.

Looking at the one and only journal entry (user created 7/12/08) there's a hefty block of random text followed by a link farm.

This is just the sort of thing I'm sure LiveJournal doesn't want to host, but I'm unclear on who to tell about it. The Abuse reports seem to be just for inappropriately adult content, and not merely spam.

Go ahead and report it (http://www.livejournal.com/abuse/report.bml) as "Advertisement or Promotions."

IIRC, the journal owner can delete it, and as part of that process there's a 'flag this as spam' option.

Someone else I know is having the same problem. She got similar spam comments from [Unknown LJ tag], [Unknown LJ tag] and [Unknown LJ tag]. They all appear to have been created on the same day. Don't be surprised if you get more random comments on old posts.

Also, at least one friend of said person having problems said she just recently got a random spam reply to a comment from 2 years ago.

Oops. The unknown tags are supposed to be LJ users juliettepizag, dorottyaniqof & bridgetefaby.

Both spam and phishing (including shipping agent job offers) are definitely abuse. (Not so sure why adult content would be abuse).
