The Day of Sleep, Lovely Sleep

Today is one of those rare "no schedule at all" days. No trips off the island expected. The house, while far from spotless, is in generally good shape. There are a few outside tasks awaiting attention, but the unseasonable heavy rain assures that this is not the day for them.

The result has been a really peaceful alternation of homework and naps. I would be concerned about sleeping through the night with all this napping, except that I know that any bouts of wakefulness can be put to profitable use with more homework.

The class schedule for grad school is like nothing I've ever seen before. Classes run from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM for three days in a row - once a month. A month! I assume they really are expecting us all to be grownups as far as pacing the schoolwork throughout the intervals. We shall see.

I applied for two different positions at Seattle U, but didn't get either of them. So I'm still working part time at Studio Foglio and I'll just have to take out massive loans to pay off the tuition bill.

Once I'm a little more familiar with the grad school workload I may apply for more positions there. One thing I'm a little less confident about is the requirement to be well versed in a variety of Microsoft programs. I've used equivalent ones, but can't really say I know theirs.
