Vashon joins the snow follies

While driving the kid the .75 miles to his school bus stop, I tested the road surface by taking a turn at almost normal speed instead of the careful crawl the beautiful powder snow would recommend. The startled look on the kid's face was even more worthwhile than the sideways slide that demonstrated - yes, very slick!

We both agreed that he should walk the last 200 feet of the journey, down the "easy to get down, might be hard to get up" hill.

I hear that the West Seattle Bridge is completely closed, so I'm super glad I went in and got so much done yesterday.

when are you coming to Chicago/Kalamazoo? Looks like the weather is going to be lousy for the next few days....

The kid's flying in to Chicago this Sunday (weather permitting...), we're following one week later. We plan to drive or maybe train to K'zoo on Tuesday or maybe Wednesday morning, depending on everyone's schedule.

All three of us fly back on Saturday, because I couldn't find a flight we could afford on Sunday, and the kid needs to be back in school by the 5th.

Benji is coming either on Tuesday (12/30) or Wednesday (12/31), so you might be able to catch a ride with him. Going back, I'm not so sure... but like you say, there's always the train. Depends on what time you need to fly out of ORD.

If you think that's fun, you should try icy roads in a southern state.
