Will this mean new kiosks in the shops? New links on websites? Any change to people's current buying patterns?

It does seem like a good idea, if you're going to move your business in new but related directions, to buy someone who is already doing a good job at it.

I hope it's enough to get better selection and pricing into the mix. I dislike the iPhone OS Kindle application and much prefer eReader.

Fictionwise is one of the major online retailers of electronic-format books. Prices are usually comparable to or slightly less than the equivalent print edition, but the big reason I never really got in to them is that there wasn't a good reader available when I went looking into it years ago.

That's changed, and is about to change some more. So having a good source for hosting, delivering and paying through e-books seems like a smart move for B&N.

Ahh, thank you kindly. I've found I waffle about reading on-line. Sometimes the format makes me twitch, other times I can sit and read for hours - I haven't been able to identify the pattern, but I can tell you that white space definitely makes a big, big difference just for things like, say, LJ posts. Thankfully, almost most books and decent fanfic have the Clue on formatting.
