The Job hunt continues

And this particular iteration includes applying for an entry-level contract technical support customer service position that I think would 1) be easy to excel at, 2) get me familiar with my target company's infrastructure, and 3) actually bring in some income (although not much).

As part of it, for the first time since 1979, I tried self-testing my typing speed. It's not very impressive. My accuracy is great, but I never have put the time into learning true touch-typing, and that looks like a determining factor. So this weekend's project is typing practice, and seeing how quickly I can boost my speed while retaining accuracy.

I'm using the free tutor at TypingWeb and so far it's going fairly well.

Good luck!
I got an A in typing class at Ferris State (partly because I was also voted Most Improved!). I don't think I've ever been able to go faster than 45WPM, but mostly, I haven't needed to (nor do I enjoy it).

The right keyboard/angle make a huge difference though.

And good luck on the job. You're right, getting your foot in the door is important. xoxo
