Today's task is to seal the deck - a major undertaking that is both physically draining and mind-numbingly boring.

But since it also requires several days of dryness before and after, and that's what we have right now, I really better get to it. Once the rains start here, they generally don't stop until Spring.

My initial intent to begin just after I dropped the kid off at school was sidetracked by the realization that the morning condensation should be allowed to evaporate in the sunlight - but that won't get here for another hour or so (between the ever-later sunrise and the tall tall trees around here).

Time for some LJ and data entry!

Memory said "it mush be dry" and checking the label ... yep, it's oil based and needs a dry surface, even though the cleanup is soap and water type.

The part that seems odd to me is that it wants you to add a second coat ONLY if the first coat is completely absorbed in 20 minutes or less, and that second coat must go on before the first coat dries.

I'm through two gallons so far, and about a thrid of the way across. Whew...
