Dec. 29th, 2009

Capricon is coming up soon - Feb 11 - 14, 2010, and in only a couple of days the registration bumps from the incredibly good deal of $45 to the only slightly more painful $55.

And this is important because Mike and I will both be there, courtesy of the convention, since they've chosen me as the Fan Guest of Honor. Even better, they have Fred Pohl (!), Spider and Jeanne Robinson, Robert J. Sawyer and Lucy Synk as Guests. I'm reliably informed that GT will have a gathering room on Friday and Saturday.

I haven't been back to the Midwest very often since we moved waaaay out here to Vashon and I am very, VERY much looking forward to seeing folks there.

Seeing the two of you again will certainly be one of the highlights. I don't know my schedule at the con yet (FAR too early for that!) but I'm sure we can ink in a couple meals together in addition to whatever hanging-out we manage,

I bought the memberships last week (thanks to the Capricious Goat warning on FB) and made room reservations for Friday & Saturday. It will be SO great to see you! I just hope you're not loaded down with schoolwork, so you can actually enjoy yourself. I remember going to many events while working on my masters degree that required me staying in the hotel room while everyone else partied. xoxo

The good news on the school front is that our classes are every three weeks, with class the week before. So I'll have a week and a half after returning from the con to finish whatever block of work we're given. The biggest factor is that (unlike my fellow students) I don't have a day job, so there's more time. Which is a good thing because I'm demonstrably slower at getting this stuff done.
